CORONAVIRUS: HERE’S A LIST OF ALL THE EVENTS THAT HAVE BEEN POSTPONED IN THE UAE!
If you’re wondering whether to cancel or push forward with your plans, have a look at the number of events that have either been cancelled or postponed in wake of the coronavirus outbreak in the UAE.

Art Dubai

The 14th edition of the international fair which was scheduled to take place between March 25 to March 28 has been postponed. In a statement released to the media, the organizers said a local art community will instead be staged on the same dates. Further details to be announced soon.

Taste Of Dubai

The popular three-day event which usually marks the end of the Dubai Food Festival will now be taking place in December instead of the original dates (March 12-14). An official statement released by the organizers read, “Due to the continued global developments regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) and following precautionary measures being implemented by the UAE government, this year’s Taste of Dubai 2020 at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre has been postponed from March 12-14, and will be extended for an additional day and take place December 9–12, 2020.”

Club Social 2020

The Yas Island music festival–which was due to take place from March 12 to 14 with headliners Liam Gallagher, Kaiser Chiefs and Clean Bandit–has been postponed to later this year. Ticket holders are expected to be reimbursed soon and organizers will be announcing a new date soon.

K-Pop Music Bank Concert

Coca-Cola Arena was gearing up to host a Korean ‘super concert’ on March 20-21 with some of the biggest K-Pop artists around. While the concert on March 20th will move forward, Saturday’s ‘Music Bank in Dubai’ has been indefinitely postponed. Event organizers released a statement that read, “In light of the global developments around the COVID-19 virus, and the increasing number of infections confirmed in South Korea, MAKESTAR and the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS), have taken the prudent decision to postpone ‘Music Bank in Dubai’ scheduled for March 21 at the Coca-Cola Arena.”

Ultra Abu Dhabi

The first Ultra Abu Dhabi 2020, which was scheduled to take place on March 5 and 6, was also postponed in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Organizers of the popular music festival made the decision due to travel restrictions imposed by some countries and airlines. Dubai International Boat Show

The highly anticipated Dubai International Boat Show was due to take place on Tuesday, March 10 until Saturday, March 14. The event has now been postponed to November. A statement released on the official website said, “Dubai International Boat Show, the MENA’s largest leisure boating event and one of the world’s most influential gatherings for the global yachting community, is being postponed from 10-14 March to 24-28 November 2020 and will be located at its new home — Dubai Harbour, the region’s largest luxury marina and most advanced cruise terminal.”

Dubai Lynx

Bringing together creatives and brands from across the globe, Dubai Lynx was scheduled to take place from March 8-11. However, in a statement released earlier, organizers said, “In light of recent developments in respect to COVID-19 we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Dubai Lynx Festival. As a festival, our priority is absolutely the safety of our attendees, delegates and team. We are going to reschedule the festival to 6-9 September 2020. Please note that all entries will be valid for the new festival dates along with passes and awards seats purchased. We will keep you updated with further information.”

International Triathlon Union Abu Dhabi 2020

Due to take place from March 5-7 on Yas Island, the International Triathlon Union will now be postponed as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus. An official statement read, “Although the Abu Dhabi authorities are working on measures so that the safety of all the athletes, coaches and officials participating in the event is the main concern, due to the new World Health Organization recommendations and the spread of the virus, ITU and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council have jointly agreed to postpone the event”. The event may take place in April.
